Abstract:
The objective of this work was to propose, at the preliminary study level, a reform and
extension of the School Senador Argemiro de Figueiredo, or Polivalente. For this, it is
necessary to understand the social dynamics that schools in Brazil and in the world go
through. Schools are still being built as if they build prisons, closed, dictators, and that
prioritize the individual and competitive growth of children who only seek places to
have fun and learn. This work seeks to question the standardization of projects as a
way to speed up the production of more schools, without thinking about the reality of
the local community, the terrain or any other important condition for doing so. The
needs of the schools in the country are very evident and it is necessary that all the
agents that act in them do their part to create a healthy and rich environment for the
learning, combining pedagogy, didactics and architecture. The project has transformed
the school's greatest needs into changes in space, bringing more movement and
dynamics.
