Abstract:
Brazil’s northeast region has been facing a severe drought since 2012. Epitácio Pessoa
water reservoir, which supplies thirty counties, Campina Grande city among them, reached
2,9% of it’s capacity in April 2017. In december 2014 a watering schedule was estabilished for
those counties, as a consequence, there was an increase on the search for alterntive water
sources such as rain water, groundwater and tank trucks. In this scenario, the importance of
groundwater as an alternative font for urban supply, it is intended to do an evaluation on the
groundwater uses in two urban microdrainage
basins at Campina Grande city. The metodology
covers a survey’s elaboration and application with the objective of describing the water uses in
the study field. Besides the collection and analysis of groundwater in five sampling points,
because it is intended to relate the groundwater quality and it’s multiple uses according to what
is established by the Conselho Nacional do Meio Ambiente (CONAMA) Resolution nº 396,
from April 3, 2008 and by Ministério da Saúde (MS) ordinance nº 2.914, from December 12,
2011.
