Résumé:
With the population growth in urban centers and the vast diversification in goods and services consumption, there has been occurring an intense industrialization in many productive sectors and with these, a significant increase in residue generation. It is necessary to search interesting solutions for the reutilization of these residues. One of these solutions comes with its reuse, in the manufacturing of new products where new interesting properties are achievable. Development of new materials through reutilization of residues is a viable alternative to aggregate value to the productive process and reduce environmental damage caused by the deposition of residues in landfills. Many studies are being developed to mitigate the deposition of such residues, and among them, the utilization of marble residues in the productive process of mortar for laying. Thus, this conclusion of course work has
as objective to determine the physical properties of the mortar that is produced with the substitution of the small aggregate for powdered marble residue. Proof bodies with 5 cm x 10 cm dimensions were molded for the reference mortar and for the mortar with the substitution of small aggregate for powdered marble residue in 10% and 20% contents. To determine the absorption by immersion in water at the ages of 7, 14 and 28 days. It was observed that the substitution of the aggregate with powdered marble substance increased the absorption of the mortar for all ages analyzed.
