Resumo:
This work studied the series of animals with mammary tumors assisted in HV / CSTR-UFCG. 100 animals were treated, 85 bitches and 15 queens. Data were collected from the medical records of these animals. The results indicate that the assisted bitches, more than half of 53% (45) affected by breast tumor had undergone application of contraceptives. Already the 15 queens met with the same disease that period, 73% (11) had been treated with contraceptives, suggesting the great influence of this therapy with the appearance of tumors. Is also noted that, of the queens affected with breast tumor there was a higher incidence in those aged between 0 and 2 years and bitches, 70 were aged between 5.1 and 14 corresponding to 82% of the total. It was observed that there was a greater number of cats SRD 73% (11) as did the bitches, 45% (38). As regards bitches races, 14 races Poodle (16%) and Pinscher 17% (15) were the most affected, totaling 33% (28) of the animals. This study concluded that there is a high series of breast tumor in bitches and cats assisted in HV / CSTR-UFCG in the period and that contraceptive use and the advanced age of the animals occur concomitantly with that disease in most cases.
