Bone fractures in large animals treated at the Veterinary Hospital / UFCG. Patos Campus - PB. Fracture involvement can definitely compromise the use of animals, regardless of their fitness, be it production of meat, milk, wool or sports practice, being naturally exposed to traumatic conditions in the various methods of exploitation of its potential. So order a study of enhanced academic purpose, on the occurrence of fractures in horses and ruminants, proceeded to the study at the Medical Clinics Department of Large Animal Veterinary Hospital (HV) of the Health Center and Rural Technology (CSTR) the Federal University of Campina Grande (UFCG), Patos - PB, from January 2002 to June 2014 period. Making up the lifting of occurrences through outpatient monitoring and data collection of clinical notes recorded in archived records and medical records. The results show an overall sample of 4974 animals served in that sector, of which, 2302 horses, a percentage of 46.28% of cases, among them, 91 horses, 25 donkeys and mules 6 suffering from fractures, corresponding to 5.3% of all horses served during the period. Cattle calls accounted for 17.25% of the total sample, 71 cases of fractures, designating 8.28% of total cattle met during the period. Goats revealed an amount of 1083 visits, representing 21.77%, numbering 61 cases of fractures, with 5.63% of the total demand related to goats. Already sheep showed 14.7% of the animals treated in that sector, which means 731 calls, among them, 25 cases of fractures, corresponding to 3.42% out of the total of sheep care. Conclusion that the percentage fractures occurrence in horses and ruminants constitutes a data relevant clinical connotation, the prevalence of these occurrences under semi-arid climatic conditions.
