Resumo:
This study aims to determine and analyze the impacts caused by drought, from 2012 to 2017, in the municipality of Sousa-PB, analyzing the period following the drought. The data used were provided by INMET, USGS, IBGE and DNOCS, processed in Ref-ET and in the free software Qgis 2.14. Multitemporal spatialization of the land use area and remote sensing indexes were generated: NDVI, TST and WSVI. The analyzes were carried out with reference to the year 2008 (very rainy year) compared to the years 2018 and 2019, the post-drought period, seeking to identify how spatial transformations occurred in the municipality. It was concluded that a modified or terrestrial drought and a direct impact on the environment, whether due to stresses generated by water scarcity or the occurrence of forest fires (natural or anthropogenic), are preferred by drought alone. This affects municipal agricultural research and, consequently, in the economic and social sphere. Farmers had limited and declining production, and people residing in the urban area were subjected to water scarcity that resulted in adverse conditions in the economy.
