Resumen:
Henriques. A retrospective study of disease of the lower urinary tract of cats (FLUTD) in Veterinary Hospital UFCG. The aim of this study was the analysis of some predisposing factors for onset of FLUTD
such as gender, age, race, food and time of year, in animals treated at the veterinary hospital
in Patos - PB. To carry out the retrospective study in question, the records of the clinic were
analyzed small animal veterinary hospital UFCG between the years 2011 to 2015. It was
found that the Male cats were more predisposed to 226 (96.9%) of cases, SRD animals with
a value of 227 (97.42) cases, higher incidence in August and March, respectively (12.38%
and 11.50%), 66.64% of affected animals fed to the base of dry kibble. younger animals
were most affected, animals with up to one year of age accounted for 66 cases (27.41%)
animals over one year and up to two years with 62 cases (25%) and animals older than 2
years and up 3 years with 45 cases (18.14%), but also found it is the presence of animals in
cases of up to 15 years. Control of FLUTD is based on the prevention of it and not only in
controlling the disease itself, well-fed animals with proper management and the provision of
information on how to recognize the symptoms must be passed by a veterinarian, the owner.
