Abstract:
In recent years, improving the quality of education has been a focus for
researchers in the area of science education, who seek changes in this situation,
developing research that intends to understand the purpose of the activities
innovative approaches in teaching chemistry, the ways to approach them and also strategies
methodologies that may favor the development of these activities in the classroom
classroom. In this context of teaching, one way to contextualize is to seek to relate the
chemical content with the regional scenario that can be understood as the visualization
of themes that bring the teaching of chemistry closer to the socioeconomic and cultural context in the
which students are included. The present work aimed at the elaboration, application
and evaluation of a sequence of didactic activities in a regional context, based on
passion fruit theme, through discussion of chemical concepts, interconnected with the
students' daily lives. Through the development of this didactic sequence, we realized
to be possible the articulation between themes in a regional context with chemical concepts,
biological, geographic and historical, where these could be seen in a
contextualized and interdisciplinary. Therefore, the stages of the project provided the
opportunity to experience the teaching of chemistry in a different way, since
students are involved in more dynamic and attractive classes, different from the
traditional classes. The results obtained through direct observation in class
exceeded expectations, since the students showed a lot of interest, even
even those who were initially disinterested.
