Resumo:
Serum and hematological biochemical profile of traction animals seroreactive to Leptospira spp. In the municipality of Patos - PB. With a lack of research on a seroreactivity of Leptospira spp of traction equidae in city of
Patos-PB and its possible laboratory alterations caused, the objective of this study was to
determine the occurrence of leptospirosis seroreactivity using the and to correlate
hematological and biochemical findings. For the diagnosis of leptospirosis, the Micro
agglutination test (MAT) test was used, using a battery with 24 serovars as antigens. The
animals with 1: 100 titration were classified as positive and submitted to blood counts and
hepatic and renal biochemical profile. Of the thirty of six animals analyzed; Ten (27.7%) had
antibodies to Leptospira spp. (Table 1). (2.77%), ictushaemorrhagiae 1 (2.77%), bratislava 1
(2.77%), tarassovi 1 (2.77%). No changes were found in the hematological profile and as
renal biochemical analyzes. In the evaluation of liver function only a gamma-
glutamyltransferase showed its increased activity and that it can not be as a consequence of
the hepatic injury, but rather in evaluation of factors like animal feeding management.
Additional research with a greater number of animals in the region may help in the
determination of the biochemical profile of healthy animals as well as chronic carriers of
Leptospira spp.
