Resumo:
The schizophrenia is an disease mental chronic with great impact at quality in life of patients,
affecting millions of people in all the world. the drugs antipsychotics are the main agents
used in treat of schizophrenia, they act mainly as an antagonist of the receivers
dopaminergic D2. This class of medicines is divided into two classes antipsychotics i first
generation or typical and antipsychotics monday generation or atypical, the antipsychotics i
first generation were the first to be discovered and were preferably used totreatment of
schizophrenia, however due your capacity to cause effects extrapyramidal, fell in I use,and
theantipsychotics i first generation,replaced them however this class of medicines and
constantly related with metabolic disturbances, causing a worsening in quality of life. The aim
of the present study was to investigate the relationship between metabolic disorders and the
use of antipsychotics, with approaches to the knowledge of schizophrenia, antipsychotics,
undesirable effects caused, and the role of the pharmacist in mental health. It is a systematic
bibliographical research,where the search of the material was done through the databases
Medline, Pubmed, Lilacs, Scielo, Google Scholar and national and international committees
of health,in which bibliographic references will be included from the years 2010 to 2018.The
following terms of researchwhich had been used in various combinations:1) Antipsicóticos 2)
neurolépticos 3) tranquilizantes maiores do Sistema nervorso central 4) Antiesquizofrênicos
2) esquizofrenia; 3) Distúrbios metabólicos.Through the review it was possible to observe that
schizophrenia is a minor incident, only a small part of the population is affected, but it has
become quite prevalent where the number of people with schizophrenia has accumulated due
to the complexity of its treatment and the lack of treatment. The study concluded that the
relationship in between metabolic disorders and the use of antipsychotics atypical, however
becomes difficult claim that only medicines are the only ones responsible,whereas that the
disease has has impact in quality the life of the affectedoften disabling them from having a
normal life,being take along to have habits inadequate which can also lead to the development
of these disorders.He also demonstrated the importance of the pharmacist in mental health, as
the patient's access link and main responsible for the arrival of the drug to the patient and
proper use.
