Resumo:
Technology advances daily occupying space in all fields of society, including education, where
its use favors development, bringing knowledge closer to reality and propagating new teaching-
learning methods. This fact is wedily corroborated in the literature. In Biology, specifically, the
use of computational technological resources (RTC) builds quality teaching and enhances the
educational process. The objective of this research was to critically evaluate the use of RTC in the
teaching of biology in high school classes, at the Orlando Venâncio dos Santos State School, in
the municipality of Cuité in Paraíba; seeking to associate them and compare them with their
applicability in the Brazilian educational context. This was a descriptive quantitative-qualitative
research, with a sample of 4 teachers, who made up all the teaching staff of the discipline of the
establishment; and 4% of the student population which is composed of 1000 students, so 40
students were interviewed. In general, the school is well equipped, but the RTCs are not used as
they should, with only superficial use. It is directed towards a better use of available tools and
new research is suggested to understand the fact.
