Résumé:
Science is exposed in all areas of life and are responsible for bringing about economic
and cultural changes in the life of the human being. In this perspective, Biology appears
as one of the most important disciplines in the school curriculum, to provide the student
with the spirit of critical citizen and to be abreast of all natural phenomena. It is the
purpose of education to promote meaningful learning of content in different academic
areas. In any case, measuring the level of information of the students in order to
provide a conceptual change in their cognitive, is not an easy job. Thinking about this,
some authors recommend the use of conceptual maps for meaningful teaching. In view
of the above, the work deals with an analysis of conceptual maps about a class taught
by Fungi. The objective of this study was to analyze the effectiveness of conceptual
maps in order to promote a meaningful learning in two classes of the second year of
high school in a state school in the municipality of Nova Floresta-PB. To evaluate the
map, pre and post questionnaires were applied. From the results it was observed that
the conceptual maps help the contextualization in the teaching of Fungi, providing a
more effective learning for Biology. Despite the traditionalism of microbiology teaching,
many methods are able to bring students closer to their everyday life and at the same
time enable them to learn from them.
