Utilização de biopróteses valvares cardíacas porcinas em cirurgias cardíacas humanas: uma nova perspectiva de vida através da suinocultura.

Abstract

The present study aims to conduct a literature and investigative research in order to understand and disseminate experience in transplantation of porcine mitral valve in humans, as well as report production techniques used in pig farms. Various technological advances associated with the breeding, thus has been performed, we intend to understand the interaction between the work assisted human medicine and veterinary medicine recognizing the importance of pig farming in human therapy. Within this process of xenotransplantation, has been highlighting some organs of pigs used in transplantation to humans, including the mitral valve swine. This work also surgical centers in Paraíba that adopt these procedures, creation and production methodology and final destination of animals for slaughter system were identified. As a result, we emphasize that the majority of animals used for this purpose are genetically enhanced, as belonging to pure breeds Landrace or Large White. The animals used in this procedure are from farms located in São Paulo. The main organs of pigs used in transplantation to humans is the mitral valve prosthesis , with a major cardiac surgical techniques currently used because it is a process with less risk of transplant rejection , longer term valvular activity and better money . Thus, pig production is a viable alternative for people with heart valve insufficiencies in addition to contributing to the supply of animal protein for human consumption.
