Resumo:
Science and Physics Teaching are based on studies and concerns (for example, a theory does not come out of nowhere), this approach leads us for a breaking of paradigms that turn to scientific discoveries and their revolutions, demystifying the idea of a single scientific method, passed on to students as an immutable truth, which came from timeless facts. The present undergraduate final project has as main objective to promote heat education in basic education, considering the construction of this knowledge throughout the human history. More specifically, we propose to use competencybased
teaching with a Historical and Philosophical Approach to Science (PAS) for teaching Physics, discussing some aspects of the Nature of Science (NoS), while problems get resolutions with their meanings. The research subjects belongs to a Elementary High School State Integral second year students class from Professor Crispim Coelho, city of Cajazeiras, countryside of Paraíba. The idea of making competencebased teaching was the kickstart for the choice of knowledge and methodologies that would come to be used and was worked on in the PAS making an interconnection of the content heat with some historical episodes (the determination of the mechanical equivalent of heat, an individual from the “Joule” as a unit for energy and the importance of Rumford in evolution of heat theory by developing a teaching practice that is not separate and out of context. A research was applied and, qualitatively analyzed as overcoming and developing the concepts in the potential for learning and integral training.
