The Unified Health System (SUS) is composed of institutions that offer various services, in which they follow a hierarchical level of assistance and are established according to the needs of each situation. The Urgency and Emergency sector is part of health care with specific purposes, but at the same time it ends up being an easy gateway to health services that seek care and quick solutions to any health problems, whether simple or highly complex. . The present study aimed to investigate, according to the scientific literature, the Urgency and Emergency service in the SUS Health Care Network. A narrative, descriptive, qualitative literature review was carried out on the topic under study. The articles were selected from the Scientific Electronic Library Online (SCIELO) database from August to November 2018,
Using the following descriptors: “Urgency” and “Emergency”, “Unified Health System” and “Health Care”. observed if
that the Urgency and Emergency services offered by the SUS meet different conditions, be they clinical, surgical, traumatological, mental health, among others, it is composed of different spheres of care, in order to provide necessary actions for urgent clinical care. Thus, it is extremely important that its components must act in an integrated, organized and synergistic manner. It stands out if
even though the service is transversal to all components, and must be
present the welcoming, qualified professionals, offer of information and consequently the regulation of access to these services. Critical patient care is directly correlated with public health policies for organizing the team's work process, the humanization of the practice of care, the quality of the organization of the hospital environment and the expansion of accessibility and adequate infrastructure for care. It is important to highlight that studies of this nature are fundamental, as they act in order to promote the creation of new knowledge on the researched topic and complement other studies.
