Perception of the university community on the afforestation of the UFCG Campus in Patos -PB. Environmental perception has the concept of representing a particular population and the environment in its surroundings, in order to aggregate values such as accumulated knowledge of vital processes, interpretations about relationships and environmental identity. The objective of this work was to perform a diagnosis of the environmental perception of the actors of the University Community of UFCG-Patos- PB (teachers, students and employees), in order to evaluate the perception of the academic community in relation to afforestation. The methodology used to carry out the research was done through a questionnaire adapted with questions related to the perception of the academic community about the afforestation of the University Campus. The survey totaled a sample of 100 interviewees, composed of students, teachers and employees, with random distribution of questionnaires. The afforestation of the Campus was considered reasonable by 77.7% of the interviewees; however, they reported that there is a need to enrich with the introduction of new arboreal individuals. It was concluded that the positive impacts pointed out by the interviewees were improved air quality and shade. And the negative impacts revealed were poorly planted trees and dirt on the site.
