Abstract:
Floristic And Phytosociological Survey Of Tree Species in the UFCG Forest Garden - Patos, PB. Phytosociological studies provide information on the composition and floristic
diversity of forest communities involving the interrelations of plant species, designing
recovery and conservation plans, and making it is necessary to use a management.
The municipality of Patos-PB presents a vegetative cover of small and medium-sized
hyperxerophilic caatinga. The present work aimed to know the floristic composition
and structure of the tree species existing in the UFCG - CSTR - Campus PATOS -
PB Forestry Horticulture and to analyze the interference of exotic species. In order to
perform this study, a total census of the species was used, where all individuals that
presented a chest circumference (CAP) above 6.0 cm present in 1.6 ha were
measured. In the total of the survey, 1,223 individuals were registered, distributed in
10 families, 25 genera and 28 species. The families with the highest floristic richness
were Fabaceae and Bignoniaceae. The species Leucaena leucocephala, Prosopis
juliflora e Azadirachta indica presented the most representative values for density,
dominance and ecological importance. The total density obtained was 948.06
individuals/ha and the basal area was estimated at 11.55 m2.ha-1. The Shannon
index (H ') was 1.95 nats/ind and the equability 0.7. It is concluded that the area
presents a high degree of colonization of exotic species, which compromises the
composition and structure of the area. In order to avoid the aggravation of this
process, with the propagation of exotic, it is recommended the control of the exotic
and enrichment of regional natives.
