Efeito da suplementação no peso e rendimento dos não constituintes da carcaça de caprinos F1 (Boer x SRD) terminados em pastagem nativa.

Abstract

The objective was to evaluate the weight and yield of commercial viscera in relation to live weight at slaughter, empty body weight and cold carcass weight of F1 Boer x SRD goats submitted to different levels of supplementation and finished on native pasture. The experiment was conducted at the Center for Rural Health and Technology (CSTR) of the Federal University of Campina Grande (UFCG), Paraíba, Brazil. 24 F1 goats (Boer x SRD), uncastrated, 120 days old and with an initial live weight of 15.52 kg were used. The animals were identified with earrings/collars, dewormed and randomly distributed into 4 supplementation levels (0.0,5,1,1.5%), making a total of six replications per treatment. Feed management consisted of grazing with continuous stocking from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, when they were collected from the pens for supplementation in individual cages equipped with troughs and drinkers. All of the viscera, together with the head, feet and skin, were weighed and their yield was related to slaughter weight (AP), empty body weight (EBW) and cold carcass weight. To determine the weight of the buchada, the weight of the empty gastrointestinal tract, liver, respiratory tract, heart, kidneys were added, whose yield was estimated in relation to PA, EBW and cold carcass weight. Pasture supplementation for F1 goats (Boer x SRD) was able to promote an increase in the weight of commercial viscera and in the yield of the loofah in relation to the live weight at slaughter, but they did not cause a variation in the yield of this without relation to the slaughter weight, empty body weight and cold carcass weight.
