Résumé:
The present study aimed to evaluate the sperm viability of Moxotó goats using a coconut water-based extender, refrigerated at 5°C. from two goats, submitted to dilution with coconut water, refrigerated at 5° C. Three solutions were used, SOLUTION 1 - 0.735g of sodium citrate of 1,351g of fructose in 100ml of distilled water, with an osmolarity of 150 mOsmol/L ; SOLUTION 2 - 1,470g of sodium citrate and 2,702g of fructose in 100ml of distilled water, with an osmolarity of 300 mOsmol/L; SOLUTION 3 - 100ml of distilled water. Four collections were carried out, in each breeder, with an interval of one week, using an electroejaculator. The semen was evaluated immediately after collection, regarding the macro and microscopic characteristics, and submitted to the hypoosmotic test (HOST) after 12, 24 and 48 hours. The results showed that the individual progressive modality and spermatic vigor did not suffer a significant decrease at 12, 24 and 48 hours. It is also shown that the use of hyposmotic solutions 1 and 2 at different times showed no difference in the hyposmotic changes of the tail, concluding that the solutions allow the evaluation of the integrity of the plasma membrane.
