Résumé:
A study conducted at Training Center Joames Bacalhau, Ingá-PB and the Laboratory of
Clinical Pathology of the Veterinary Hospital / CSTR / UFCG, Patos - PB, from August to
September / 2008, to determine the serum-enzyme activity of muscular horses used in
vaquejadas on the condition of rest and groups - physical activity. Were used tem horses in
age from two to 13 years old, race of Fourth Mile and Mestiçagens, under system of
creating semi-intensive, diet based on forage, consisting of native grassland and grassy -
Brachiara spp and Grass (Cynodon spp) and, offers of concentrated industrial pelleting, in
accordance with the rules of preparation. The experiment was done with randomized design
in pre-trial stages and final, the second group of horses, constituted under the preparatory
stage of training daily. The blood samples for biochemical measurement, collected at
intervals of twelve hours and measured the rates of serum enzyme through commercial kits
(LABTEST), in Analyzer semi-automatic - Bioplus 2000. It suffers from the condition of
rest, mean values and standard deviation of Creatine phosphokinase (CPK), Aspartate
aminotransferase (AST), Lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), respectively, of 267.50 U/L ±
45.14, 164.75 U/L ± 111.23 and 609.50 U/L ± 216.18; while, the findings of CPK (489.2
U/L ± 180.47), AST (190.1 U/L ± 168.28)and of LDH (814.85 U/L ± 215.77) registered
pos - physical activities were markedly higher. It follows that the values of serum muscle
enzyme-horses used in vaquejada are higher in contingencies predominant groups -
physical activity, with significant interaction between diet and intense physical activity.
