Resumo:
Pain in animals. Pain is an unpleasant stimulus and natural used by our body in an attempt to prevent any imminent harm to our body or more. It is a personal experience that can not be shared among individuals, described only or informed. The physiological pain is a natural phenomenon, a system of repletion aggressor against an object, but the lasting pain when it is able to activate other mechanisms involved in the process, transforming it into pathological pain. Phenomenon called central sensitization and peripheral, they are able to trigger numerous neuroendocrine changes that are often responsible for clinical deterioration of patients. Among the problems in the elucidation of pain in animals is the key to its identity, is characterized differently in different species seen by the veterinarian, then the form of treatment and importance given to it, often unknown or underestimated by the professional and the pharmacology appropriate for your treatment. The theme is a pain in the very left in the background both the human as veterinary medicine, often through cultural impact on the importance given to animals. With new values acquired by domestic animals, today, this theme covers now a new perspective in
medicine, becoming a new concern in the clinical care of patients. The theme of "pain" philosophical and moral appeal based on his understanding, this paper seeks to inform in a clear and straightforward solutions to the management of pain in animals, through a review of its mechanisms, identification and treatment, still seeking a review on the pharmacology of the main drugs that can be used in the elucidation of the suffering animal.
