This paper has as its research theme the administrative and pedagogical challenges faced by school
managers of public schools facing the covid-19 pandemic. The main objective is to understand the
challenges faced by managers/directors of the Creche Anita Garibaldi Mendonça Raphael, in the
Municipality of Sumé facing the pandemic of the COVID-19 virus. The methodology of the text is part
of the qualitative approach, whose collection was carried out through a questionnaire applied to the
administrative staff of the early childhood education network, specifically in the Creche Anita Garibaldi
Mendonça Raphael. The initial challenges faced by the daycare center were the suspension of classes
due to the pandemic. In the perspective of remote teaching it was necessary to use technological means,
to train the teachers, and to adapt to this new technological means necessary for the functioning of the
activities developed. It was also necessary to prepare didactic materials to be delivered in physical form.
In this sense, it was necessary a pedagogical redesign to meet the needs of those who were in situations
without access to the internet and technological equipment. It is evident the impacts on student learning,
in the perspective that many do not have access to technological means, problems of feedback and
follow-up of the proposed activities. However, the alternatives found in their strategies as a management
team in partnership with the secretary of education of the municipality sought to mobilize their
knowledge and develop the ability to learn to learn for the adaptation of this new learning environment.
