Résumé:
Estrus synchronization in goats using the male effect. The aim of the study was to compare the heat synchronization by hormonal method associated to male with the use of traditional method of male effect. The experiment was accomplished in the farm Barra do Riacho in Afogados da Ingazeira City, semi-arid area of Pernambuco State in Brazil. The experimental period understood September month in 2007 (dried period), 60 female goats were used, which were divided in 02 groups of 30 animals with 2.5 physical score (level 01 to 05), 4 pimps and 4 males with proved fertility. The females were removed of the male contact for 30 days in the 1st group, the estral cycle was induced and synchronized, inserting intravaginal sponges impregnated with 50 mg of progesterona medroxiacetate (PMA), in a period of 12 days, in the tenth day of permanence cloprostenol 0,5 ml was applied and two pimps were introduced, in the 12th day at 36 to 42 hours after the sponge removing two males with proved fertility were introduced during a period of seven days. In the 2nd group the female goats were separated during a period of 30 days without physical and visual male contact. Later two pimps were introduced during a period of three days and later two males with proved fertility for seven days period. It was verified that for the groups 1 and 2, the heat synchronization rate was 80% and 33%, but the gestation rate was 70% and 30%. It concludes that the association of the hormonal method and the male effect presents very satisfactory results.
