Praça da Guabiraba: proposta de espaço livre público para a comunidade Juracy Palhano.

Abstract

The Juracy Palhano neighborhood, in the rural area of Lagoa Seca - PB, has gone through profound changes in its morphology in the last years, due to the construction of horizontal closed condominiums, which ended up suppressing the offer of outdoor living areas and spaces for exercise practices of the pre-existing residents. The present academic work, which is a preliminary study of the landscape design of a square, proposes to offer a vital environment for the maintenance of the life quality in the urban/rural environment. For the development of the preliminary study, the methodology of Maruyama and Rammé (2014) was applied, which concerns the general structure of the work; and Abbud’s design methodology (2010), which refers to the creation of tools to support the elaboration of a landscape project. These tools were used in order to enhance both the physical and morphological aspects of the area, and also create compositions that, besides being functional, were also rich in sensory terms, privileging the users that were already inserted in the space.
