Abstract:
The objective of this study was bromatological and microbiological analysis in diets for
puppies and adults. For chemical analysis, samples were packed in plastic containers,
properly identified by letters and sent to the laboratory of animal nutrition for
determination of crude protein (CP), ether extract (EE), mineral matter (MM), moisture,
crude fiber (FB), calcium (Ca) and phosphorus (P). For the analysis of aerobic and
mesophilic bacteria were pipettes 1ml aliquots of each of the three dilutions to Petri dishes
(100x20 mm) sterilized, making each dilution in duplicate plates. For total and fecal
coliforms, anaerobic microorganisms optional lactose fermenters with production of acid
and gas within 24 to 48 hours of incubation at a temperature of 32 to 37oC, the
methodology used to seriate tubes. For salmonella, gram-negative enterobacteria, and
pipettes were added 1ml of dilution in medium sheets, coated in the culture medium dry,
with a low film covered by a screen. For the survey of fungi in the diet using the method of
counting total in Petri dishes. It was found that all the values declared in nutrition labels
and observed in the analysis are overestimated in relation to the values recommended by
the Ministry of Agriculture. All brands showed that 100% of fungal contamination and that
the marks B, C and E had only bacterial colonies identified as total coliforms, not the
presence to the other brands tested. There are brands tested in the presence of fungi and
bacteria. The chemical analysis of feed showed different values for the nutritional
composition of diets suggested by MAP. However, the diets tested are considered good
because the level of contamination is below the limit set by law.
