Resumo:
The purpose of this study was to analyze changes in nutritional status in adults in
health regions of the state of Ceará. This analysis takes place in a context of transition
nutritional and epidemiological aspects that, from a health point of view, are shaping a new
scenario in the country. There is an increase in the prevalence of overweight and obesity, and
consequently, the increase in cases of Chronic Non-Communicable Diseases
(NCD). These changes in lifestyle and dietary practices are represented,
many times, by the reduction of the practice of physical activity and increase of new
high-calorie and low-nutrition food products. It is a study
ecological, space-time, referring to the years 2008 to 2019. For development
of the study, secondary data were collected on the nutritional status of adults
attended by the Primary Care (AB) of the state of Ceará, obtained through the reports of
public access available on the online platform of the Food Surveillance System and
Nutritional - SISVAN (internet). The division of regional health units is
represented by 22 health regions where the State Health System is structured. You
results show that in the adult public, excess weight more than doubled,
reaching a prevalence of 54.35% in women and 54.14% in men, during
12 years. The sample is composed mostly of women, which cannot infer the
results for the entire population of Ceará, but indicates the need for greater
health incentives, in order to reduce the prevalence of overweight among
adults and the general population, seeking to reinforce the need for planned actions to
improve health care as well as at all levels of care and attract more
men for AB. Finally, this study aimed to help to better understand the situation
nutritional status of the state, evaluate the coverage of SISVAN in the different health regions, and
thus encouraging future public policies that aim to better address and respond to
health problems associated with being overweight in this population.
