Résumé:
Children's food choices can be shaped by the way food is presented to each child, with food
and nutrition education being a fundamental factor in the process of forming these eating habits.
The school environment is essential in the learning process about extracurricular topics such as
food education, as it is an environment conducive to teaching, it can help the child understand
the subject presented more easily. In view of this, the present study aimed to analyze the impact
of Food and Nutrition Education activities on students from 6 to 10 years old at a municipal
school in the city of Jaçanã/RN. Therefore, questionnaires were applied before and after
carrying out the adapted children's storytelling activity, in order to understand their impact on
the students' knowledge. Based on the information collected, it was possible to observe the food
frequency of the sample and the influence of the activities on their knowledge on the subject,
highlighting that the actions satisfactorily changed the students' perspective on food and food
choices, allowing the debate on the understanding of the activities. In this way, it is possible to
perceive the importance of debates on Nutritional Education in the daily lives of children for
the consolidation of healthy habits and the consequent prevention of non-communicable
chronic diseases.
