Résumé:
The complex and wide-ranging changes that have taken place in contemporary society
alter the quality of life at work, in the relationships between workers, and in the
organization of institutions. In this way, it is important that companies can follow the
social context. Work, organization and quality of life are issues that are interrelated
from the moment the individual launches himself as a subject in an institutional process,
but which crosses him as a person in the world. Given this scenario, this work aims to
analyze the quality of life at work and the level of occupational stress among
nutritionists in the clinical and production areas in the hospital environment. For this, a
descriptive quantitative study was carried out in September 2021. The target audience
were nutritionists who work in federal hospitals linked to the Federal University of
Campina Grande, namely the Alcides Carneiro University Hospital (HUAC), in
Campina Grande, and the Júlio Bandeira University Hospital (HUJB), located in the
city of Cajazeiras, both in the state of Paraíba. The collection instrument was applied
electronically through the Google Forms platform (Google Forms). The questionnaire
contained five sessions, where the sociodemographic and occupational profile, Quality
of Work Life Assessment (QWLQ-bref), Individual Lifestyle Profile (PEVI) and
Occupational Stress (EET) of the respondents were addressed. Of the 13 nutritionists
linked to the hospitals, 09 responded to the questionnaire. The results showed that the
General Quality of Life at Work among hospital nutritionists had a satisfactory rating,
showing that the participants were satisfied with their quality of life at work. As for the
Individual Lifestyle Profile, it obtained a positive classification for the Nutrition,
Relationships and Preventive Behavior components, demonstrating the group's concern
with these aspects of quality of life, but the most neglected item was for the Physical
Activity component, indicating low practice of physical activity. group exercises.
Finally, in relation to Occupational Stress, the classification was low, despite being a
very stressful environment for these professionals. The results obtained from this
research will enable a better understanding of the factors involved in the quality of life
and occupational stress of nutritionists, based on their perceptions related to their
performance in the hospital work environment and their impacts on health and well-
being. . Due to the topicality of the subject, the great complexity of the work of
nutritionists in the hospital environment, the current situation of operation of the
hospital network, the risks and concerns with health, and the scarcity of works involving
this class of health workers, it is evident the need for further studies and deepening of
this theme in the scientific literature.
