Resumo:
The determination of the physiological parameters and the correlation with the morphology
of cardiomyocytes of the young and adults goats was the objective of this work. It used 12
male goats, Boer and SRD, that healthy animals were divided into 6 young animals in the
group of the G1 (6 months ± 30 days) and 6 adults animals in the group of the G2 (13
months ± 30 days) was obtained in the Municipal Slaughterhouse in city of the Patos / PB
and subjected to evaluation body weight and measurement of physiological parameters.
After slaughter, samples were collected randomly with 5 cm diameter of the atrium and the
left ventricle to the preparation of histological slides treated by the method of staining with
hematoxylin-eosin (HE). The tissue was performed using the imaging system Image-Pro
Express 6.0 with the 40x objective. The variables number of muscle fibers per bundle (unit
/ beam), the area of the muscle fiber by fiber bundle (um ²) and the major and minor axis
(um) muscle fiber cardiac atrium and ventricle. Data were compared between groups of
young and adult goats. The results were analyzed by t test (Fischer) or Mann-Whitney test.
Results of heart rate, respiratory rate and body temperature did not differ between young
and adult goats, except for the area of fibers per muscle bundle of the left ventricle.
