Resumen:
The present study addresses the issue of violence against women, whose phenomenon
constitutes a serious public health problem. The increasing numbers of cases become a
challenge in the approach of primary health care services. With that in mind, this study aims to
understand the difficulties experienced by nursing technicians, understand the conception and
performance of professionals in the care of women victims of violence, and finally, verify
strategies used in case management. This is a descriptive and exploratory study with a
qualitative approach. The interview was conducted through a semi-structured script through
Google forms. The research participants were 08 nursing technicians from the Health Units in
the municipality of Cuité-PB. The research material was analyzed using the Bardin Analysis
method. From the elaboration of central ideas, 02 categories were created: Violence against
women: definitions and Identification of cases of violence: Difficulties and reception.
Therefore, the results lead us to reflect on the complexity that violence against women is
inserted, as well as the weaknesses found in health services, thus showing the need to develop
new strategies about this process so that this cycle does not multiply. Thus, it is essential that
professionals who work in cases of violence are able to meet the integrality and individuality
of each woman in addition to a technical perspective.
