The high unemployment rate registered in Brazil in recent years has been a major challenge for governments, whether at the municipal, state or federal level. To alleviate this problem, it is essential to create mechanisms through public policies that provide alternatives for the economy. In small municipalities, unemployment is even more present, with the lack of factories, income is small and often ends up being reduced to public jobs, rural retirement, social programs or commerce. The research problem of this work is: What are the current socio-economic impacts of Shopping de Sumé - PB for shopkeepers, customers and residents of Sumé-PB? Therefore, based on the discussions, the general objective of this study was established: To assess what are the current socio-economic impacts of the construction of the mall in the city of Sumé, in Paraíba. And as specific objectives, there are: 1. Verify if the sales of the shopkeepers improved or worsened after moving to the new premises of Shopping de Sumé-PB; 2. Specify the job creation process at Shopping de Sumé-PB; 3. Express the level of customer satisfaction at Shopping de Sumé-PB; 4. Understand the social relationships generated with Shopping de Sumé's customers and tenants; and 5. Suggest improvements to the management of the Sumé mall and customer satisfaction. Thus, it is concluded that the shopping mall in Sumé has a strong influence on the generation of employment in the city, in addition to providing greater well-being to all.
