Abstract:
In vitro analysis of the degree of toxicity of the ethanolic extract of Azadiracta indica A. Juss in Artemia salina and in infective larvae of Haemonchus contortus. Gastrointestinal parasites, especially Haemonchus contortus cause reduction in livestock productivity of small ruminants. The lack of knowledge of creators and inadequate application of anthelmintics generates parasitic resistance. in search new methods to reduce the use of chemical products, herbal medicine is a new Alternatively, among the plants, there is the Azadiracta species indicates, known as Nim, who owns repellent and anti - helminthic. For toxicological studies plants, microcrustacean Artemia is widely used to replace the use of guinea pigs in experiments. Initially, the extract was prepared from the leaves of Neem subsequently microcrustacean Artemia salina was reproduced in the laboratory, to evaluate the toxicity of the hydroalcoholic extract of this plant. The test was conducted in triplicate, with 10 specimens of A. saline on each plate containing the extract in at concentrations of 100, 500, 1000, 10.000 and 20.000 mg / mL, after 24 hours was done to count the nauplii survivors.
