Assessment and socio-environmental impact in a tourist area: Batentes waterfall in the municipality of Mãe D'água - PB. Among the activities involving the environment, tourism has emerged, with increasing demand for foreigners in search of natural beauty present in all Brazilian biomes, as a source of entertainment and leisure. The social status should keep in mind that non-aggressive nature and its conservation will not only bring unilateral advantages, but the awareness of the general population. The social profile of users of the tourist area is vital goal. The environment is affected with the local clearing of vegetation, thus becoming exposed to an unprotected soil erosion and compaction with the increasing volume of garbage. Pollution and misuse of available water sources and due to lack of an environmental education that raising awareness to experience tourism taking their livelihood without degrading it. The population lacks an efficient administrative political investment, and are losing ground in business activities. For finding the problems raised, as proposed analysis was carried out visits to the location, analysis of thematic maps of the region, questionnaires to local people, mapping the area via satellite survey of the environmental impacts related to tourism practice, photographs, besides the theoretical framework. result of increased tourism and propose mitigation measures in the waterfall of stops in the city of Mãe d‟Água-PB.
