Abstract:
This article aimed to identify what studies point out about the relationship between Emotional Intelligence (EI) with university students, based on studies of scientific productions in the last ten years (20122021) in Brazil. This study points out the relevance of EI as a behavioral competence that enables the individual to have greater perception and control of emotions, promoting personal results and for the environment in which they are inserted. The university environment is composed of several challenges and because we realize that students represent a relevant group for society, as they are the near future, who will perform various activities, such as leadership, the development of emotions is a differential that will add value. In this way, the ability to adapt, that is, the development of emotions (IE) in the midst of constant changes experienced daily, will bring the greatest possibility to achieve results. As a methodology, searches were performed in the following databases: Google Academic, SciELO (Scientific Electronic Library Online) and BVS (Virtual Health Library), where the descriptor "Emotional
Intelligence and university students" was used, resulting in 08 (eight) works, of which only 06 (six) met the inclusion criteria (produced in the last 10 years; productions stored in national journals and collections; works written in Portuguese), as well as accessibility of scientific researches of national production and the availability and free of charge of the texts in full. This systematic review pointed to two themes: the area of care and competences, verifying the high IE level in research university students, as well as the higher the IE level, the greater the professional performance. Finally, it is expected that this study instigates more research on the subject in Brazil, also contributing with proposals for greater depth in the face of a topic of such importance.
