Leiomyoma: report of a case in the lower lip. This study reports a clinical case of oral leiomyoma in a female patient, 44, leucoderma, which appeared in the dental office reporting increased volume near the lip. The extraoral exam showed a mild swelling of the right side. Upon intraoral examination, there was submucosal lesion of about 2 cm in diameter, located in well-defined, asymptomatic, consistent palpation and coloration similar to mucosa labial mucosa. Excisional biopsy was performed and the specimen was sent for histopathological examination which revealed the diagnosis of oral leiomyoma. Leiomyomas are benign neoplasms arising from the proliferation of smooth muscle cells, having the possibility to occur anywhere in the body. However, they are uncommon in the oral cavity. The study of injuries unusual occurrence and reporting of new cases are necessary because they allow to gather data that lead to knowledge of the biological behavior and prognosis of the same.
