The Brazilian population is aging rapidly, and with the aging population, there is a
high number of edentulous patients. The quality of life is related to how oral health
affects the daytoday
lives of individuals. Thus, tooth loss affects quality of life, as it
reduces people's ability to chew, speak and relate to the world. The rehabilitation of
this condition must permit a satisfactory quality of life in relation to the achievement of
own mouth activities. One of the proposals for the rehabilitation of edentulous
patients is the complete denture treatment. The objective of this review is to discuss
satisfaction and quality of life of elderly patients regarding the use of dentures. The
methodology consisted of a literature review, from a survey of papers and articles
relating to the quality of life of elderly associated with the use of total dental
prostheses in databases: Medline, Lilacs, SciELO and CAPES journals. Being
excluded those productions that did not meet the theme. We conclude that the type
of prosthesis subjective parameters can influence the degree of patient satisfaction
with rehabilitation and quality of life after oral rehabilitation with complete dentures.
