Resumo:
This research aimed to identify the level of social entrepreneurship present in an association in the Chã de Jardim community in AreiaPB. The research started from the need to address the relationship between social entrepreneurship and local development in a region. To achieve these objectives, it used analysis categories that aim to measure the degree of entrepreneurship of an organization, in this study being considered the ADESCO (Association for the Sustainable Development of the Community of Chã de Jardim). As for the methodology, a qualitative approach was chosen, based on an interview via chat, with a community leader and former president of the Association. It used the content analysis
method, applied in a case study strategy. The research was characterized as descriptive, depending on the objective. Indicators were evaluated for each category of analysis, which when analyzed together identified the degree of entrepreneurship present in the association. It was noted that she is a promoter of social transformation and local development. Through the existing projects in the community, the information obtained through interviews and documentary records, it was possible to analyze in the light of the theory of social entrepreneurship. Where the results show that ADESCO has a strong potential for social entrepreneurship, measured through the analysis categories proposed by GodóideSousa
et.al. (2011). Which corresponded with the projects, actions and strategies used by the association to promote the proper use of natural resources, aiming at local development, job generation and the social wellbeing of people in the community.
