The new ways of sharing information have changed the behavior of the students. Studies
demonstrate, for example, that courses are considered more attractive when presenting virtual
content associated. The aim of this study was to compare the profile of familiarity and use of
Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) by freshman and senior students of
Dentistry. In order to do so, was sent, by e-mail, a link for a survey posted on Google Drive®.
It was observed, in both groups, that the majority of the students claim to use the internet
every day, to be capable of execute basic informatics procedures and to consider the use of
Virtual Learning Environments e Social networks for academic purposes quite interesting,
once it is associated to learning improvement. However, senior students affirmed to use
internet to study only when in doubt if something, on the other hand, freshman students
inform to use the internet for study daily. In conclusion, in general students are able to
execute simple informatics procedures using mainly mobile devices and that a short period of
time (04 years) was enough to verify important differences on dentistry students behavior.
These observations lead to an understanding that the teachers formation and should be
revised.
