Abstract:
Animal experimentation remains important to understand the physiology and
pathophysiology due to similarities with humans especially when dealing with rodents
basis. Success in this type of research is directly related to the ideal conditions
offered to the animals, keeping in mind the concern to eliminate any kind of stress,
pain or suffering, according to the Humanitarian Principles of Animal
Experimentation, emphasizing the commitment to enhance and modernize
techniques with the goal of making more effective the experiment, using the fewest
possible specimens. This review article aimed to show the main factors and care that
should be considered research proper conduct involving laboratory animals.
