Resumo:
The present work aims to carry out an analysis of patents registered in Brazil related to brewing recipes. From the bibliographic verification, it was possible to verify that beer producers, since the beginning of the production of the beverage, add extra inputs in recipes such as fruits, spices, and others. In this way, this addition becomes a technological innovation and can become profitable for those who patent their recipes nowadays. With this, there was a need to delve deeper and understand the state in which the patents in this area are and with the results achieved to be able to measure and quantify whether it is viable to invest in this commercial niche. Thus, the INPI (Instituto Nacional da Propriedade Intelectual) portal was used to search for patents and have a view of the Brazilian scenario, being able to verify the number of patents, their depositors, in which state they are located, and their evolution during the period from 2001 to 2020. The data obtained were treated with the help of Microsoft Excel® software, generating graphics that facilitate the visualization of the content. With the results, it was possible to verify that Brazil has 36 patents related to the subject, the numbers of registrations vary during the period and reaches its peak in 2019, the largest depositors are the Federal Universities, with Paraíba and Paraná as the most relevant states. In addition, when comparing the adjuncts that are used in patents and the range of products that the country offers, it is noted that very few inputs from Brazilian flora were used, opening the possibility of proceeding with research and development of recipes that may becomes a patent and generate financial return for the inventor.
