Cisto dentígero bilateral na maxila em paciente não-sindrômico: relato de caso e revisão de literatura.

Abstract

The dentigerous cyst is the most common odontogenic cyst associated with fully or partially impacted teeth, benign, often with unilateral location, with higher incidence in the region of lower third molars, predilection for male individuals aged between second and third decades of life. Their bilateral occurrence is rare and usually associated with syndromes. The objective of this work is to report a case of bilateral dentigerous cyst in the anterior maxilla. Female patient, 43 years old, presented to the Clinic of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Faculty of Dentistry of Bauru, University of São Paulo with complaints of absence of the upper canine teeth. Radiographic examination showed the inclusion of teeth 13 e 23:02 unilocular radiolucent lesions associated and independent with the crown of the teeth. Incisional biopsy was performed and the diagnosis of dentigerous cyst. The proposed treatment was surgical enucleation of the cyst and the extraction of teeth 13 and 23 under general anesthesia. Postoperatively, the patient recovered uneventfully, with no signs of recurrence.
