Résumé:
Evaluation of the pharmacological potential of the essential oil of Rhaphiodon echinus Ness Mart. Schauer (Lamiaceae). The essential oils of plants, as well as their derivatives, such as terpes, have attracted more and more interest because of their antioxidant properties. An essential oil rarely studied and extracted from the Rhaphiodon echinus plant, a Brazilian plant species, which belongs to the Lamiaceae family and is popularly known as "Betonica". The main objective was to evaluate the pharmacological activities of the essential oil of Rhaphiodon echinus Ness Mart. Schauer (Lamiaceae), as well as the main phytochemicals of this oil. For the evaluation of the antioxidant potential, both in silico techniques were used, through the online PASS program, pharmacological analysis of the major phytochemicals of the oil showed a broad list of activities, such as antiinflammatory and antineoplastic, which are directly related to antioxidant activity, and in vitro, by means of tests with the ferrous ion (Fe2 +). All in vitro tests were done in triplicate. To analyze the antifungal activity of Rhaphiodon echinus essential oil on strains of Candida albicans, tropicalis and krusei, by means of the investigation of Minimal Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) using in vitro assays the broth microdilution technique was used. The results of the in silico tests showed the antioxidant potential of the main compounds analyzed, in vitro a satisfactory antioxidant activity of the essential oils against the ferrous ion and CIM50% for Candida albicans and Candida tropicalis is 512 μg / mL. CIM50% for Candida krusei is 256 μg / mL. Thus it could be concluded that the essential oil of Rhaphiodon echinus Ness Mart. Schauer is a carrier of antioxidant and antifungal potential and is a promising substance for dental treatments.
