dental materials and their improved techniques, it is possible to treat aesthetic
cases and obtain excellent results. Patients have increasingly demanded
aesthetic dentistry solutions for cases of smile disharmony, such as changes in
color, shape and size. It is up to the dentist to choose a treatment that returns
health and function beyond esthetics. Objective: To describe a clinical case of
Periodontal Surgery for correction of gingival smile and cosmetic adjustment
through dental bleaching in the office and direct restorations in composite resin
to increase incisal edges. Case report: A gingivectomy was performed with
flapless osteotomy (Flaplees technique), providing aesthetic balance between
the zenith gingival. After 30 postoperative days, dental bleaching was
performed in the office of the upper and lower elements (15 to 25 and 35 to 45)
in a single session. Later, dental reanatomizations were performed to increase
incisal edges by the direct technique in composite resin, allowing better
aesthetics in the vertical length of the teeth. The composite resin was chosen
because it is more financially feasible in relation to the ceramics, to have
simpler execution, to require little or no wear and also to be reversible.
Conclusion: It was fundamental the interdisciplinary work between
Periodontics and Dentistry that, through a good planning, adequate execution of
the techniques, besides the periodic control and maintenance and collaboration
of the patient which provided aesthetic dentistry within the standards so valued
today.
