Abstract

Esthetic restoration of endodontically treated tooth through external bleaching and direct veneer with composite resin. Currently, there are several options to rehabilitate the aesthetics of the smile. Among them, there are less invasive techniques, such as tooth whitening, to direct restorations. However, in order to obtain a good esthetic treatment, it is necessary for the professional to have knowledge about aesthetics, restorative materials and techniques available. Objective: to present a report of a clinical case in which the aesthetic restoration of the endodontically treated element 11 was performed through the use of external bleaching associated with a direct facet of composite resin. Case report: A 23-year-old male patient sought care for aesthetic treatment complaining about the darkening of the endodontically treated dental element. A clinical and radiographic examination was performed, proving color change and identification of excess obturator material inside the root canal. The treatment plan was proposed to restore function and esthetics of the involved tooth. For this purpose, a lowering of gutta-percha, external dental bleaching between premolars of both dental arches with a concentration of 35% (FGM, Whiteness HP, Brazil) and a direct facet of composite resin of element 11 were performed. Conclusion: treatment stages revealed that the correct planning combined with the knowledge of available techniques and material properties is of significant importance in order to obtain a satisfactory aesthetic result, making possible the rehabilitation of the dental element.
