Abstract:
Fluent reading is an important characteristic that must be acquired during the literacy
process. Different indicators show worrying problems in the literacy level of Brazilian
students, including the characteristic of being a fluent reader. This work reports the
development of a gamified web application that seeks to improve, through the use of a voice
recognition API available in some browsers, the word reading ability of students in the
literacy process. At the end of development, a survey was conducted and the results reveal
that the application can be useful as a didactic tool at the level of basic education.
