Resumo:
Landscape conditions can be measured through the use of bioindicators, which are attributes that
measure or reflect the environmental status and sustainability condition of the ecosystem. Thus,
this article aims to characterize the diversity of macrofauna in a representative toposequence of
Pico do Jabre-PB and obtain biological indicators (bioindicators) of soil-landscape relationships.
To elucidate this research, there was the morphological characterization of the soils in
toposequence and to study the macrofauna, 30 pitfall traps were made, 10 for each segment of the
Toposequence in the dry and wet seasons. In the dry season, 1184 individuals were identified and
in the wet season, 1155, totaling 2339, distributed among 11 taxonomic groups. The most
abundant groups were the Order Hymenoptera, Dermaptera and Diptera. The rare groups form:
Order Scorpiones and Opilionida. By correlating the macrofauna with the activity in the soil, a
wide distribution of Orders that perform important activities, such as the decomposition of organic
matter, cycling of soil nutrients, control of the population of other organisms and maintaining the
balance in terrestrial ecosystems is perceived.
