Abstract:
The work intends to present Literature not as a tool for teaching Geography, but as a revealer
of geographical, historical, political, social and cultural processes, thus considering Literature
as a kind of simile of the students' daily reality and a source of comprehension of the human
experience. One of the paths for such accomplishment is the cultural approach to Geography,
through phenomenological conceptions (mimetic and factual) mediated by the concept of
landscape through a bibliographical research. In this sense, it is believed that Literature, as a
constituent and revealer of culture, enables the intermediation for the perception of the mannature
relationship, using the interpretation of literary works, investigating geographic aspects
and the relations between beings in certain spaces, as well as all the visual aspects that surround
such environments. Based on these observations, the aim is to show the importance of the
concept of landscape through literary works for the teaching of Geography, through the novel
"The Little Prince", by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, in its adaptation through the Cordel
Literature by Josué Limeira, thus seeking to establish a discussion that allows the recognition
of experiences as a didactic instrument to promote learning. It was found that through the
pedagogical content adopted, subjective and collective reflections, values the expansion of
geographic knowledge from the verification of the proposed literary work.
