Résumé:
Dengue epidemics, related to the main vector, the Aedes Aegypti mosquito, have
been part of the Brazilian reality since the beginning of the 20th century, whether in
the various dengue serotypes DENV-1, DENV-2, DENV-3, DENV-4, or at Zika virus
or Chikungunya fever. This variety of diseases transmitted by the mosquito, as well
as its perpetuation in Brazilian history and society for so long, can be justified by its
high capacity and ease of adaptation to various socio-environmental, meteorological,
economic and cultural conditions. Natural and anthropic factors, in most cases, are
placed as the main motivators of Aedes-related epidemics. Therefore, the research
aims to analyze social and meteorological factors that affect the number of dengue
cases in Campina Grande - PB. For the feasibility of this research, the procedures of
survey of references and document survey were followed. As a result, it was possible
to perceive the need for the applicability of public policies so that they reach the most
varied spaces of society and so that there is an awareness of the problem of dengue,
making possible an alignment involving the public sector and its managers, the
private sector and society, in its varied scope, in the application of the policy for
vector control.
