Paraíso Perdido: uma análise intermidiática sobre a obra de Pablo Auladell.

Abstract

This Course Completion Work aims to compare the Graphic Novel version of Paradise Lost (2019) by Pabblo Auladell with the canon of John Milton, an epic poem from 1667 that narrates the fall of Satan from heaven, a direct reference to the book by Genesis of the Holy Bible. For that, the writings of Irina Rajewsky (2012) regarding intermediality were used as a theoretical basis, and to analyze the sequence of images and delimit the characteristics referring to sequential art, we rely on Will Eisner (1990; 2010). The concept of intermediality is presented as an analysis tool, which enables the observation of different types of media and the equivalence of meanings between its constituent elements. In addition, studies related to the sequence of images are of paramount importance to guide the reading and analysis of the graphic aspects of the work. In this way, it is understood that, through the analyzes carried out, it is possible to raise new perspectives on this forms of art reproduction, to visualize the density and complexity of this poetry transposed through the watercolor of Pabblo Auladell.
