Résumé:
The ehrlichiose is considered a zoonosis, and can be fatal. It is that most species of
Ehrlichias can affect the man. The disease may present three stages: acute, chronic
and subclinical. The genus Ehrlichia parasites intracitoplasmic comprises white blood
cells and platelets of several species of mammals and is transmitted by the bite of
ticks biologically brown, Rhipicephalus sanguineus. As host, the incubation period of
the disease is 8 to 20 days. Based on its importance in public health, was made
retrospective study of cases of dogs with clinical diagnosis of Ehrlichiose in the city of
Patos between the years 2004 to 2008. We examined a total of 779 sheets clinics.
We can highlight that in relation to variables: age, presence or absence of ticks and
amendments laboratory (thrombocytopenia, leukopenia, leukocytosis, lymphocytosis,
lymphopenia, anemia, neutropenia and neutrophilia), statistical results were
significant. The prevalence was 19.89%. The presence of variable tick is significant.
